Tunturi treadmills are manufactured by a Finnish company that’s been in the exercise equipment business for over eighty years. They started out in the bicycle industry and expanded over the years, quickly taking a chunk out of the European market, where the Tunturi name is very well known.
Now that you can purchase Tunturi treadmills in the United States, they are worth a look, especially if you are in the market for a particularly stylish piece of equipment. Finnish style has always been synonymous with sleek, understated design and these treadmills are no exception. They are almost like works of art for your exercise space.
Even the Tunturi website is stylish and efficient. If you want to do a really accurate comparison of models within the Tunturi line, the company has put all of the treadmills side-by-side so that you can compare features easily. Tunturi makes it a breeze to decide which model is right for you, and even go so far as to make suggestions.
Not many companies are honest enough to tell you one treadmill is, “for performance training,” while another may be the, “perfect treadmill for beginners.” It’s refreshing to visit a website that doesn’t claim that every treadmill is for the marathon athlete.
Tunturi treadmills vary in price between $1,500 and $3,000 with lots of models and options to choose from, so you are bound to find one that will suit your needs admirably. Fifteen different models give you lots of change-out on features so that you feel like your choice is almost custom-designed for you.
You have the Pure Run Series with 6 models to choose from, the GO Run Series with 6 models as well, and the Platinum and Platinum PRO.
These are affordable treadmills for most buyers because the best deals are the Tunturi models in the $1,500 to $2,000 range. The more expensive ones are still nice, but once you’re pushing that envelope you may want to look at some of the lower end luxury models by other companies.
A comfortable, wide treadmill deck and decent power mean that you’re getting a good fit for walking, jogging and regular use. Pushing a Tunturi past eight miles per hour probably isn’t a good idea, however, so if you’re a flat-out runner, it’s not the best fit on the market.
The warranty is usually 15 years on the motor and frame with two years on parts and electronics. Here’s a tip if you buy a Tunturi – take the time to register your treadmill on their website. By doing so, you extend the parts/electronics warranty by a full year for free!
All in all, Tunturi treadmills are a very nice option, especially if you value a product that looks good while performing well.
