The Spirit ET-10 Flatbed Treadmill – Top-of-the-Line Model 2007-2009

The Spirit ET-10 Flatbed treadmill gets kudos for reliability, power, cushioning, and quiet operation. Produced under the Esprit brand, the ET-10 lacks the quality of competitor models, but can be a good choice if the price is right.

The Machine

The LED dot matrix display has a heart rate zone graph, ¼-mile track, separate message center, and readouts for speed, time, distance, laps, pace, incline, calories, and heart rate. The Spirit ET-10 Flatbed treadmill has convenient controls for speed and incline adjustments built into the handrails, as well as speed and elevation quick keys on the console.

The Buzz

UPDATE:  The Spirit ET-10 has been discontinued. You can compare popular Spirit Treadmills at Amazon to find one of the current models that suits your needs.

The Esprit Spirit ET-10 Flatbed treadmill features an institutional grade steel frame, 3-inch rear rollers, a 1-inch pre-waxed phenolic deck, variable durometer elastomer cushioning, and a 2-ply textured duraweave belt.

The 3.25 HP continuous duty motor offers a speed range of 12 mph, and the 1000-lb thrust rated incline motor provides an incline range up to 15 percent in 1-degree increments. The front of the frame has transport wheels, although it is difficult to wheel this 250-pound treadmill around.

The New Spirit treadmills have 7 preset programs, a manual selection, and 2 user-defined programs for custom workouts.

The 2 HRC programs (Weight Control and Cardiovascular) automatically changes the speed and elevation gradually to achieve the programmed target heart rate. Any Polar wireless chest strap (sold separately) for heart rate monitoring will work with this treadmill.

What We Say

The Spirit ET-10 Flatbed was Esprit’s top-of-the-line model during 2007-2009. Back then, it sold for around $1,899 and can still be found online for about $1,550.

However, many reviewers point out that while some of the budget Esprit models offer good value, that assessment disappears with the two higher priced models and particularly in the ET-10.

Unless you can find the Spirit ET-10 Flatbed treadmill at a big discount, there are many treadmills out there for $1,600 that offer much more in terms of components, features, warranty, and general pizzazz.

If you like this design and these specs, we suggest you look at the best selling Sole S77 treadmill, another Dyaco product that sells for the same price.
