The Precor TRM 243 is a gym-quality treadmill and the top model in the popular Energy Series, with a wide variety of built-in workouts, tracking capability and touch display. It's one of the most popular offerings from the industry leader in commercial grade cardio machines.
The TRM 243 gives you a 7" full color display with touch buttons, and an LCD overlay. You get 4 different user IDs for maximum customization.
Let's take a look at some of the most important specs...

The TRM 243 is one of the most talked about models in Precor reviews, as although it is an Energy series model, it has many of the features of the higher end Precision series. It is a big step up from the TRM 223, so it is a great option for those looking for a commercial grade treadmill for the home.
It features Energy Stride technology, a patented feature that reduces stress on your knees and joints by giving the running deck the perfect amount of cushioning.
Interestingly, you get a whopping 23 preset workouts and 16 personalized workouts on the TRM 243, but the up-level TRM 425 only gives you 10 total. We're not sure why they didn't include the same number of workouts on that model, since the TRM 445 does have as many.
At any rate, you also get a customizable touch display with lever style controls and 27 different workout metrics including time, distance, pace, calories, speed, target heart rate, incline and more.
One of the most interesting features, not found on any other Precor treadmill except the TRM 445, is Preva workout tracking.
This is a great feature that allows you to track your workouts and monitor your results, keeping you motivated. You can set fitness goals and get badges for achievements, and share your results with friends and family via social media.
Some of the other great features: iPod/iPhone integration, tablet holder with SmartGrip, USB port, touch and wireless heart rate monitoring and a solid warranty.
The Precor TRM 243 is one of the most popular models for a reason...it bridges the gap between the entry level Energy Series and up-level Precision Series, with the best features of both.
You get a ton of workouts, Preva workout tracking, incline, Energy Stride cushioning and the quality construction/design that Precor is known for.
The 243 and the 445 are our favorite models, as they are each the best model in their respective series. If you need decline and a larger belt, take a look at the 445 as well.
