The Smooth 6.75 Folding Treadmill – A Foldable Model for Serious Runners

Sleeker, lighter, and brighter, the Smooth 6.75 folding treadmill is the 2010 upgrade to the 6.45 with only a small increase in price while retaining all the value and quality of the older version.

The Machine

The Smooth 6.75 folding treadmill has an attractive color LCD display that shows speed, time, distance, incline level, calories burned, and heart rate. The 12 programs include 5 incline, 5 speed, 2 distance, and 1 heart rate program. Since this is one of the quieter folding treadmills on the market, you’ll enjoy your motivational music even more; the iPod/mp3/CD auxiliary jack plug-in accesses the console’s deluxe sound system so you don’t need earphones.

The Buzz

Smooth 6.75 Console Fitness professionals and trainers were duly impressed by the 6.45 folding treadmill, and the Smooth 6.75 comes in with improvements to an already solid machine. It features big 2.5" rollers, a silent running 3.0 hp motor with a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) circuit board, an ultra quiet whisper weave tread belt, and a one-piece deck that folds up independently of the console/pedestal. In addition to a 12 mph top speed and large 20" x 60" running area, you also get heart rate monitoring and program control, and convenient handrail toggle switches for speed and incline adjustments.

The Smooth 6.75 folding treadmill is new for 2010 so there are very few reviews on this model yet. You can expect the 6.75 to deliver the same satisfying results as the popular 6.45 model. Keep in mind that Smooth Fitness machines are sold online only, which is why the price-to-value ratio generally rates off the charts on these models. Without a retail price markup and shipping directly from the manufacturer’s warehouses located on both coasts as well as the Midwest, you will save at least 40% on the Smooth 6.75 over buying a folding treadmill with nearly the same features at a local sporting goods or discount retailer store.

What We Say

Geez, the 6.45 model was such a good machine, who would have thought it could get any better? Well, it did. The Smooth 6.75 is narrower than the 6.45 and has a better color LCD display. In addition to being some 65 pounds lighter, the max speed has been upped to 12 mph. The new Smooth 6.75 folding treadmill costs $200 more but it is well worth it for its value, performance, and warranty (lifetime frame/motor, 5 years electronics, 2 years in-home service). Smooth Fitness sells this treadmill for $1,499 or $59/month if you finance it. You also get Free Shipping and curbside delivery, though it is recommended you purchase the additional $75 in-home room delivery. This affordable folding treadmill earns another Best Buy nod from us.
