The Buzz

UPDATE: As of our latest review it looks like Smooth Fitness may be out of business. For a comparable machine check out our NordicTrack treadmill reviews, made by the same company.

The 13.75 is a commercial-grade treadmill, built to handle years of wear and tear.  It has received numerous Best Buy awards in the price category due to its combination of durable construction, sleek design and suite of beneficial features.

It's definitely on the pricey side...at around $3999 on sale it's $2000 more expensive than the popular 890 model.  But it really does have the best of everything.

It has an extremely powerful 5.0 CHP commercial motor which delivers smooth, quiet performance.  The patented Reflex Cushioning responds to your motion and delivers the perfect amount of resistance and stability.

All of the features can be adjusted with just the touch of a button, including your speed, incline and decline.

The Smooth 13.75 TL also has something called the Set-A-Goal Workout Center, which allows you to enter any targets (calories, times, distance) and the machine automatically adjusts the incline and decline to reach those goals.

There are several wireless entertainment options as well as a a charging station for your smartphone or tablet.

Perhaps the best feature, at least according to customer reviews, is iFit, an exclusive ICON Fitness program that gives you additional workouts, Jillian Michaels training, tracking and sharing, and Google maps to simulate running anywhere in the world that you choose.  Your speed, incline and decline will automatically adjust to match the feel of the course that you choose...a very cool feature which alone justifies the $99 yearly membership fee.

Just a couple of negatives to point out.  For some reason the Smooth 13.75 TL only comes with 9 built-in workouts.  In comparison, the 890 comes with 40.  We're not sure why they skimped on the workouts here.  But rest assured you can tap into 100s more workouts with iFit.

Also, a wireless chest strap is not included on the 13.75 TL.  For this price, it certainly should be.  It is included on the 890 model.

What We Say About the Smooth 13.75 TL

There's no denying the fact that the 13.75 TL is one heck of a treadmill, built gym tough with loads of features and capabilities.

You get incline, decline, a large display with internet capability, entertainment, iFit and music.  You also get a large runner's deck and a powerful motor, with Reflex cushioning and 3.5" rollers.

Sure, it's definitely on the expensive side, but if you have the money it's a great choice, and definitely one of the most solid of all of the ICON Fitness treadmills (NordicTrack, ProForm, Reebok, Freemotion, Healthrider).

Take a look at the 13.75 TL and see what you think.  If it's too expensive for you the 890 is one of our top picks as well.
