The Reebok 8400C treadmill is a large impressive looking piece of machinery without the fluff. They concentrated on beefing up the pre-programmed console, the power incline, and putting a decent motor under the hood, and left off the extras, like a built-in tv screen or mp3 player. But that blueprint should be just the ticket for buyers looking for a basic, affordable treadmill.
The Reebok 8400C treadmill has four LED windows that display the readout from its 16 trainer programs, including 4 Heart Rate workouts and 2 customizable MyDesign workouts. The large blue backlit display gives you speed, time, distance, calories, fat calories and pulse. The Reebok 8400C’s full list of the specs includes:
UPDATE: The Reebok 8400C has been discontinued. It has been replaced by newer models. You can get some really great discounts on all of them here:
A major advantage found among the components on the Reebok 8400C is the 20" x 60" 2-ply commercial treadbelt which is roomy enough for even the largest user. Underneath the motor housing, you’ll find a commercial grade motor and large rollers to keep the belt moving smooth and whisper quiet.
Treadmill Doctor is calling this unit “one of the best Reebok models made in recent years.” You can’t get a better endorsement than that.
Consumers love the Reebok 8400C! A number of Reebok treadmill reviews are enthusiastic about the health club quality feel of this machine. And just like a club model, the speed and incline features can be adjusted with one touch -- no need to scroll through all the settings.
The only downside to the Reebok 8400C is the treadmill warranty, but that is easily extended with additional coverage. (It doesn’t necessary add a lot to the final price, since it does come with free shipping.)
Otherwise, we rate this unit highly for power, cushioning on the deck, quiet operation, quality, and overall value. The MSRP on the Reebok 8400C treadmill is listed at $1399, but we’ve seen it on sale for as low as $999. At either price, it still rates as a Good Buy.
