The NordicTrack ViewPoint 3000 TV Treadmill – Rated ‘Good Buy’

The NordicTrack ViewPoint 3000 TV treadmill comes with a high end entertainment console to keep you occupied during your workout. The TV treadmills for 2008 will work with the conversion to Digital TV (in Feb 2009) as long as the signal comes through either cable or Satellite reception, or uses a digital converter box.

You can also watch DVDs on the ViewPoint 3000. Reviews of this model tout its many positive features, yet only have one complaint: the warranty, which tends to be an issue with all NordicTracks.

The Buzz

UPDATE:  The Viewpoint 3000 TV treadmill has been discontinued and is no longer available.  For a comparable machine check out the NordicTrack Commercial Series treadmills on the official company site.

Experts are pleased about the number of features and the powerful motor you get for the price. The TV is a plus, and the excellent sound system and quiet motor are very impressive. The warranty is weak, especially considering that it covers the TV for only one year, but otherwise, the machine’s reliability, quality, cushioning, power, walking area, and console features make it an attractive buy.

Since the screen is large enough and the sound quality is excellent, owners of the NordicTrack ViewPoint 3000 TV treadmill have few complaints. It comes with an extensive number of pre-programmed workouts, great looking console, built-in sensor grips on the handbars for quick and accurate pulse monitoring, a large user capacity, and quick controls for speed and incline. Since the price is right, you might want to consider getting the extended warranty, just in case.

What We Say

We’ve been saying all along that TV treadmills are great -- until the TV breaks, then you’ve got an expensive part to repair or replace if the warranty has expired.

It’s better to spend your budgeted funds on the best treadmill you can afford, and leave the TV for a separate purchase. Still, even without the TV, for a sale price of $1199, the NordicTrack ViewPoint 3000 TV treadmill rates a good buy.
