The NordicTrack Elite 2900 Treadmill with iFIT® Technology

The NordicTrack Elite 2900 treadmill comes installed with the innovative iFIT® technology which allows users to plug in “cards” containing workouts designed by certified personal trainers. There are four cards, each with 24 workouts that cover an 8-week period. In addition, an audio program on each workout contains recorded tips by the trainer on motivation, breathing, posture and so on.

The Machine

Included in the 21 programs on the NordicTrack Elite 2900 treadmill, 15 are pre-programmed, 4 are for heart rate, and 2 are custom. The iFIT® cards cover four categories of wellness, weight loss, performance and body shaping. The display console even includes a cartoon — an animated display of yourself walking, jogging or running. It’s kind of silly, but definitely something you don’t see on other treadmills. The Buzz

While trainers are pleased with many NordicTrack treadmills, they have a few reservations about the warranty on this one. It would receive better recommendations from fitness experts if the manufacturer didn’t shy away from offering a better warranty. A lifetime warranty on the motor and 10 years on the frame is great, but why not a longer parts warranty? It’s the one year warranty on parts that strikes reviewers as lame, in which case the quality and reliability of the NordicTrack Elite 2900 has to be questioned with such a glaring shortcoming.
